Rockbeare Manor Wedding of Sam and Shaun
Rockbeare Manor Wedding Photography by David Pullum. This was my first wedding at Rockbeare Manor. I believe the house has been hosting weddings for the last 3 years, but this was my first wedding there and what a beautiful wedding venue it is. Set in the beautiful Devon countryside the building offers a unique and very intimate wedding for up to 120 people.
Sam sent me a message via Facebook a few weeks ago telling me that her wedding photographer had let her down. That's not unusual these days. Unfortunately professionalism in this industry that I love is at its very lowest. Photographers letting couples down at the last minute, wedding images not being delivered on time, or sometimes at all , its a sad reflection on an industry that once prided itself on offering top quality service.
So Sam was in a panic, no photographer and just a few weeks to get one sorted out. Unfortunately her budget could not stretch as far my pricing, but I'm a sucker for someone who has been let down, and I agreed to cover her wedding for her so at least she could get some decent images. Rockbeare Manor is literally 10 minutes away from where I live and I always think its good to put something back into the community that you live in.
I did the same a few years ago when Evoke Photography, a local Exeter based company left all their clients in the lurch, with no photographer and some whose weddings were literally 2 weeks away. Along with some other local photographers I stepped in and helped as many as possible find a photographer for their day.
The day could not have gone smoother, the staff at Rockbeare Manor are amazing. Very attentive and so good at what they do. I thoroughly enjoyed the day and got some really great emotional images for Sam and Shaun. It always helps when a groom falls to pieces when he see his bride for the first time and Shaun was by far one of the most emotional grooms I have come across.
