Anita and I flew out to Paris to shoot the wedding of Danny and Diana. We set out from Exeter airport at 5.00am and shot for 2 days in and around Paris.
Danny and Diana are from New York and contacted me only about 3 weeks beforehand to arrange us to photograph their day, at that time they did not even have a rabbii or synagogue to hold the ceremony. We arrived in Paris on 6th October and met up with them at their hotel, by this time they had arranged for a rabbii to marry them the following day and so we decided to just hang out in Paris and take in some sites.
The next day Anita and I headed off to the synagogue where we were to meet them, unfortunately, and possibly only in Paris, there was a pro-communism rally that halted traffic in the city centre. The rabbii,a very eccentric Englishman was to take the service, Anita and I spent an hour talking to him regailing stories of ceremonies he has conducted all over the world.
And just to show that France is no different than England it started to rain just as the wedding finished.
Thanks must go to my lovely wife for helping me on both days, being a map reader and carrying my bags can’t have been easy, and also to Danny and Diana for being such a great couple to photograph.
And a special mention to my sister Susan and her husband Patrick for spending the evening with us on Tuesday and congratulations on the birth of Tessa this morning.
