So where to begin on this wedding. Well Nick contacted me a while ago having seen some images I shot for Danny and Diana’s destination wedding in Paris a couple of years ago. Nick is a movie trailer editor in Los Angeles and was browsing vimeo when he can across my images. He contacted Danny to ask who shot his images and within a matter of weeks I was booked to shoot for 2 days in Paris. Without doubt following 2 people about any city is one of the most difficult assignments I have ever had. It was tough with Danny and Diana and it was tough with Nick and Kelly. Both sets of couples are amazing people, but creatively its very tough. Its not like a wedding and its not like an engagement shoot. I wanted to make it different and try to create a story of the 2 days in Paris.

So, on the first day we met up at their hotel and walked around the city. I wanted to get some really nice portraits , but have some fun as well and I think we achieved this. We certainly had some fun anyway. As you can see from the images Nick has a rather distinctive moustache, which certainly gets him noticed.

Day 2 was their wedding. The ceremony was to take place at The American Church, which is situated right on the banks of the Seine. Kelly, who is a hairdresser was booked to have her hair done at the studio of renowned hairdresser David Mallet. I’m no expert on hairdressing at all, but he did an amazing job, and just visiting his studio was an experience I will never forget. The assortment of dead animals artistically placed in every room was a real eye turner.

After the ceremony we went on a boat cruise down the Seine, where we bumped into an Indian guy, his huge family and a load of Chinese tourists. I think they thought Nick and Kelly were famous, Kelly does have an uncanny resemblance to Scarlett Johansson, and for most of the boat trip they were asking Nick and Kelly for photographs and then the Bollywood dancing lessons started.

The whole 2 days were an experience I will not forget for a long time. Thanks to Nick and Kelly for being such amazing clients and allowing me the freedom to document their wedding in Paris.

Big thanks also must go to Joshua at Allora Visuals – London Video Production for putting together a video documenting our time. One of these can be seen on my contact page.
