Having some time off during these last 2 months has meant I have managed to spend some quality time with my wife and children. Dillon is now 16 and so spends most f his time studying for his exams or on the XBOX….. and so when he does come out with us its a rare treat. So , here are some images taken with my new Leica M9, which I will also be using at weddings this year, All of these are taken with the Leica 35 mm f2 Summicron-M Asph 6-bit , its a beautiful lens.

sport-relief open post close post

Late last year Ben Winston of Fulwell 73 Productions asked me if I would like to shoot a Sport Relief sketch with James Corden and Andy Murray. James would be playing his character of Smithy and it was to take place at the National Tennis Association in Roehampton. He had been granted roughly 20 minutes with Andy Murray and so all the prep work and shooting had to be done before our time with Andy. I was to document the day, and get a couple of portraits for either TV listings or National Newspapers, so no pressure there….

It was great to be on set, and watch these guys work, the time pressures were immense, and James had to get all of his comedy sketches in before Andy arrived. I hung around and took images of the sketch as it unfolded in front of me.

After doing his interview with Sports Personality of the Year Andy Murray turned up and and was such a giving person, he was  tremendously generous with his time on set and gave much than the 20 or so minutes we were told , and I managed to grab my shots for the newspapers.

It was an amazing experience, one that I will not forget for a long time. To cap things off  2 of the images appeared in , The Times, The Daily Mail, The Daily Star, The Sun, Andy Murray’s website and on the Jonathan Ross Show last Friday.

Ben also did sketches with David Beckham, Wayne Rooney and Manchester United, Jenson Button amongst others.

Here are a few images from the day and a slideshow. Please press play to start the show.

At this time of year my season has started , but its no manic, and so we decided to take a short break in Woolacombe, its really off the beaten track, but out of season, like most Devon seaside resorts, its beautiful and quiet. It also gives me a chance to take some much required images of the family. The 2 boys are growing up so quickly and I just dont get the opportunity to take as many images as I should. So here are a few.

kirsten: ( March 15, 2010 10:16 pm ) YAY! I found the comment box. Like I said, I love the photos. So happy you were able to find some vacation time with the family. Seriously, your youngest is a mini-Pullum. :)

Kathryn Krueger: ( March 15, 2010 5:28 pm ) Great pics David! So glad you all got some time to get away. Hope you're feeling refreshed!
