Manuel contacted me some months ago, both he and Megan live in Hong Kong and were coming over to London for a holiday and to meet with Manuel’s brother. Whilst they were here that wanted me to document them for a day around London. We must have walked most of the West End of London and by the end of the 8 hours we were all absolutely shattered. As much as I love shooting in London, it can be a real rip off, Ive posted an image below of a hamburger, it really is as small as it looks, and the chips it came with were about as thick as cotton, and about as tasty. This little ensemble set us back £8.75, unbelievable.

We started off at Selfridges where Megan had a makeover and ended up along the bank of the Thames, along the way stopping off at Kew Gardens.

Manuel and Megan are now back in Hong Kong, it was a pleasure to work with them both and spend a glorious summers day in London.

Last month Anita and I spent 3 memorable days with Christian Keenan and his family at their home in Jersey. Christian is a superb wedding photographer  (www.ckpweddings.com) and one whose work I admire greatly. On our second day Anita went off to the Spa and I photographed The Keenan’s. To say this was nerve racking would be an understatement, as photographing for a photographer is so difficult. Helier and Louis were great subjects, although keeping up with them did prove tiring and I have to say I was absolutely shattered when I finished later that night.

Christian and Carol were such great hosts and it was a real learning experience for me to see Christian’s studio and workplace, and meet up with Andy, Christian’s assistant, again.

Here are a few images from the day.

Christian Keenan: ( June 9, 2009 1:31 pm ) I just wanted to say David that both Carol and I, as well as our two chaps, are thrilled with the images that you took of us. We now have an amazing record of us as a family doing some of the things that we enjoy doing together. Please know David as Carol and I get older and our memory starts to fade you will have given those memories of us with our very special boys back to us through your work and for this we will always be thankful. Thank you David.

Josh Archer ( June 4, 2009 6:35 pm ) Hi David, no need for the nerves clearly, I think you did them proud. Anyone would be nervous photographing for another photographer, especially Christian. Having said that you are no small name yourself so you were bound to do good! Josh
