Apart from weddings I do actually shoot a number of different things, like engagement shoots, day in the life and portrait sessions. I’m not a big fan of studio set ups, mostly because I have no idea how all those lights work, but I do enjoy just going into a house and shooting some pictures for the parents. Here are a few from an hour sesion I did last week. I shot Sue and Pete’s first child about 2 years ago and was delighted to be asked to take some more images of second daughter.

After a long hard slog my new blog and website went live last night. I have to say I am really ,really pleased with the result. I wanted to get away from black and white sites that I have had since I started and it was also important to me that the images were large.

I have to say a huge thank you to Ross and his team, without whom this would not have been possible. I signed up for the full branding, which included logo, background and a host of other products that will really help me provide great customer service.

Hopefully we have ironed out all the bugs , but please feel free to email me if you see any..

I have just returned from one of the best workshops I have ever been to. Last year Huy Nguyen came out with me on a wedding and from that day I was hooked by his ability to shoot weddings. Huy runs a workshop in Dallas, Texas where participants are given 2 day assignments with the aim of capturing outstanding images in environments that are well outside of our comfort zones. My assignment was the Dallas Skatepark, the largest free skatepark in America. The night before we had gone there just as an exercise in shooting, and whilst we were there a really ugly fight broke out between a few of the skaters. Little did I know then that I would have to spend 2 days and most of the night with these guys.

Its an experience I will never forget and here are some of the images I captured.

Special thanks to Huy Nguyen, Tyler Wirken, Ben Chrisman ( the new WPJA photographer of the year, well done Ben), Erin Adams, David Murray (a legend) and all those who helped me get through the four day seminar.

Duncan Kerridge ( April 2, 2008 1:59 pm ) Wicked sick dude, the shadows are so ill.

Anil Tohani ( March 31, 2008 10:52 pm ) Amazing work David, it was an experience I will never forgot. Keep up the great work

Christian Keenan ( March 19, 2008 6:30 pm ) Really nice images David. It looks like the course was well worth it.

Erin Adams ( March 15, 2008 1:13 am ) Great post David! It was fantastic getting to work with you. You are an excellent shooter. It was so exciting seeing the images you produced each day. I hope we cross paths again soon!
