The Ash cloud made this another epic journey to Glasgow by car, 1 week after driving to Shannon, this time I hired a car and made the journey to Glasgow over 2 days, stopping off in Manchester along the way. Debbie and Mark met at the T in the Park Music Festival and a few years later Mark proposed to Debbie at the same festival.
I have to say both sets of families were most accommodating, I met all of Debbie’s family the night before for a drink, and her father had me in stitches most of the night, winding me up a treat, and gullible old me falling for everyone of them. That night set the tone for the wedding, relaxed and fun, around 150 people attended the wedding from as far afield as Dubai, most if not all managing to avoid the dreaded ash cloud.
A huge thanks to everyone for making an Englishman feel so at home in Scotland.
