So for the second year on the trot I found myself back at The Toni Alm Ski Lodge photographing another MAD wedding. There is just something about this place that lends itself to the wildest wedding receptions I have been to. Last year I had the privilege of photographing Lucie and Max and this year thanks to Grenzenlos Events I photographed Kate and John. Originally from Australia Kate now lives with John in London and on Boxing day they , their family and friends headed out to Zell Am See to get married. Zell Am See is a beautiful place up in the mountains 45 mins from Kitzbuhel, the air is so clean and the light is gorgeous. After the ceremony we made out way to the foot of the mountain to get skidoos up to the ski lodge, it was snowing heavily and I was faced the wrong way round on a skidoo blasting its way to the top of the mountain trying to take images of the couple enjoying the ride.

The party went on until 3.30am, it was seriously great fun, its such an intimate venue, the music is loud and the alcohol flows freely. Here are a few images from their day.

I thought 2010 was unique, a wedding in Kitzbuhel surely was a one off. Well in 2011 just after Christmas I had 2 wedding in Kitzbuhel, recommended by last years wedding planners. I was excited and slightly hesitant, last year I failed to get my plane out of Innsbruck as there was too much snow in Gatwick. This time we failed to get our plane from Innsbruck because there too much snow in Innsbruck. However, that did not spoil what were 2 fantastic weddings. Gareth and Sara married at the local town hall, Austrian wedding ceremonies are slightly different than ours with dancing at the end of the ceremony rounding off a really intimate wedding.

We then headed to the slopes where Gareth and Sara and their guests went skiing for an hour and then onto Streifalm for a meal and some traditional Austrian dancing. The dancing was interesting to say the least, a little wrong in some places , but everyone had a great time. Thank you to Gareth and Sara and their family and friends for making both myself and my family very welcome and for making us all feel part of their wedding day.

I first met Amanda when I was invited round to her parents house just off Baker Street in London. Amanda was so excited about her wedding and the ideas that she had were pretty amazing. A winter wonderland for the Chuppah ceremony and a tropical theme for the evening reception all to be held at the impressive Park Plaza on Westminster Bridge. Both were a real challenge for photographs with extremes of lighting in both rooms however the effect and overall look was spectacular.

Daniel also had an identical brother, which was fine as Daniel had an orchid on his lapel and his brother a rose. However halfway through the Israeli dancing both the flowers on their jackets fell off, which then made it virtually impossible to tell them apart. I dont think Ive ever met twins that are so identical. The problem was solved my Daniel’s brother taking off his tie, much to our relief.

Thanks to Lord and Lady Gold for making us feel so welcome at their daughters wedding and to everyone involved who made it such a great event to photograph.
