Last week I had the pleasure of hosting a wedding photography workshop in North Devon. I hired a 12 bedroom house in Instow and had a 2 day wedding photography love-in, except the love-in contained 1 day of harsh, but constructive critique of their websites, pricing and images from a full wedding.
It was a pleasure and honour to have participants from Spain, London and Yorkshire attend and it was really refreshing that everyone was so open to having their work critiqued. We are all very precious about our images and critique can sometimes be hard to take, but all ego’s were left outside the front door for 2 days and I hope everyone took alot away from their experience. Here are just a few images taken over the 2 days.
Thanks to my sponsors , Leather Craftsmen, Motibodo, Totally Rad, Flosites and Think Tank for their support.
Aberdeen Photographers: ( March 11, 2011 10:02 am ) Looked like a really good event, wish we had something up here in the north east of scotland
Forsikring: ( March 2, 2011 11:32 pm ) Nice work! I like it!
Jonathan Taphouse: ( February 26, 2011 6:39 pm ) Look like a great event, shame i missed it. always looking to improve my wedding photography!
Annelie Eddy: ( February 24, 2011 1:13 pm ) What a great couple of days! I'm so glad I attended this workshop - it was a real inspiration. I've learned more in those few days than at all my other courses combined. Thank you David. Good luck for the next one.
Nick Rose: ( February 23, 2011 8:25 am ) Looks like it was a great couple of days!
Mark Carey: ( February 22, 2011 4:03 pm ) Collaboration with your peers is all very well and great fun, but when push comes to shove what I needed was a massive kick in the photographic pants from David Pullum. Having my work critiqued by you David was a real eye-opener. Thanks massively. I feel you have really raised my game.
Nishant Patel: ( February 22, 2011 1:55 pm ) The workshop was brilliant; the agenda was very well planned and spot on. We worked late into the nights; drilling deep into valued topics and great sources of inspiration alike! The critique was positive, meaningful & concise (with all the necessary, but occasional kicking’s)! David is a brilliant person, a very creative & professional photographer creating fabulous results that always provoke the desires to excel! I've learnt a lot, spent even more, and have had the opportunity to meet some brilliant photographers with a real collection of characters that, hopefully, prove to become lifelong friends! Can’t wait for part 2! (David- hint hint!) Nish (and yes I’m ridding of the old ‘stupid’ name, and I'm learning to hold my camera straight(er))!
Paul Toeman: ( February 22, 2011 11:59 am ) From the desk of Cornwall nick....the ROI on those 2 days has been outstanding. DP: artistically inspiring, creatively refreshing and professionally engaging. 10/10 photographers recommend a Pullum picnic because it's soild soul nourishment.
scott collier: ( February 22, 2011 11:20 am ) Oh dear. Lucky I write everything down really. The amount of ideas, innovations and information I took from these two days was overwhelming. Fortunately Paul. Mark and I have divided the list into three and now conferencing together in our north London caves to try and get a grip on this stuff. I though I was passionate about his, until I met David. Somethingelse. David. We paid you. You delivered. In spades. No collaboration is complete, however, without the attention of the local feds.
Tom Weller ( February 22, 2011 9:59 am ) Thanks David for a great and inspiring course. Brutal honesty = improved work. Loved every minute of it. Totally agree with Dannish - no taking photos set up by someone else and learning nothing. Great to meet everyone and see so much great work.
Yolanda Jones: ( February 21, 2011 11:28 pm ) We live just across the river from Instow; I would've waved if I'd known! ;-)
Dannish Effendi: ( February 21, 2011 10:39 pm ) David. The two days were a real eye opener. This weekends wedding i kept asking myself "what would david do". A big big thank you for organising a well planned and orchestrated workshop. A ton better than the usual, stand and shooting over someones shoulder workshops that are being offered. Hope your April Workshop goes just as well.

Having some time off during these last 2 months has meant I have managed to spend some quality time with my wife and children. Dillon is now 16 and so spends most f his time studying for his exams or on the XBOX….. and so when he does come out with us its a rare treat. So , here are some images taken with my new Leica M9, which I will also be using at weddings this year, All of these are taken with the Leica 35 mm f2 Summicron-M Asph 6-bit , its a beautiful lens.
South Africa wedding photographer: ( March 8, 2011 5:01 am ) Fantastic work, I really like the dancing shots
Forsikring: ( March 2, 2011 11:32 pm ) Ilike these photos! :)
