I first met Sammy and Ian in July and at that time they had just decided to get married at Great Fosters and so only had 3 months in which to plan their wedding. Sammy did a remarkable job in arranging so much in such a short space of time, including getting the Vera Wang dress….
Sammy and Ian have 3 beautiful children who all played a major role on the day and were a delight to photograph.
Here are some images and slideshow from their day.
Sammy ( November 2, 2008 2:55 pm ) It takes both a raw & sophisticated talent to capture the essence of a person through a mere picture, even more astonishing when you consider the subjects... complete strangers and a room filled with them! It appears our David manages this with ease and panache, week after week, as these beautiful pictures demonstrate. He answered my voicemail message within 5 minutes, and was thoroughly accomodating, warm and helpful. His website left me jaw dropped and on the basis of his amazing images, I booked him on the spot. After meeting him, where he kindly bought Ian & I drinks, it felt like we were on a night out with a friend. In fact, we had a good laugh & I knew we'd chosen the perfect person. On the day, David was punctual, professional, friendly, unobtrusive and most of all fun! He mixed so well with my family & guests & became one of the gang, with several guests commenting on how lovely he was. In fact, some of my most vivid memories of my day were the laughs we shared with David, when having 'private' photos taken with my lovely, new hubby.
Apart from my husband, the most precious thing I take from my wedding is my amazing photo account of our day... from the images of my grumpy dad & silly brother, bored glances from patient children, and little feet resting on pews, to my baby son refusing more food from daddy, Ian's shame during the best man's speech, my dad looking down his nose at David (typically 'dad'), to the remains of my son's meal - his little wooden digger which he'd used to scoop up his corn laying scattered on the plate & not to mention the rainbow over the conservatory which I totally missed on the day... what a lovely surprise! How else but someone very clever & in touch with people would know how & when to take these shots & use such clever angles? Thank you for capturing all these precious moments I missed, and giving them back to me to keep forever. You'll never know how much that means to me.
To any future clients... should you be fortunate enough to find David is free for your wedding date, book instantly and consider yourself very, very lucky indeed. In my humble opinion, you've got the best man for the job by far!
ian williams ( October 31, 2008 11:22 pm ) Mr David, what can I say the pics of our wedding day are absolutely amazing would recommend you to anyone. I am not an emotional guy but you had me reaching for the tissue box. You captured everything that I felt and everything I missed and those memories will now stay with me forever.

Andy ( October 30, 2008 9:29 pm ) Another fantastic series of photographs David. Great colours and tones, and so many fascinating compostions - I'm so happy we managed to snag you for our wedding next year.
I recently joined the ISPWP organisation as the photographer that runs it, Joe Milton, was one of the reasons I became a wedding photographer. I stumbled across Joe’s site some years ago and was blown away with the images on there. So when Joe set up the ISPWP I joined as soon as I could. At the moment the organisation is in its infancy, and already has some great photographers and friends of mine as its members. David Murray, Sergio, Allegra,Ashley, to name just a few and its really great knowing that such talented photographers are in the same organisation striving to achieve the same goals.
Amanda and Darren were married at Bickleigh Castle in Tiverton, Amanda having recently given birth to a lovely baby girl,Beau.
Once again I was blessed to work with wonderful registrars, having paid a small fortune to marry at the Castle, the two registrars walked in and before I could say “good afternoon”, I was promptly told “no photos during the ceremony”.
For me this ridiculous rule needs to be changed otherwise it seems a complete waste of money getting married at a lovely venue if you cant have photographs of the most important part, but then what do i know… isn’t it great to rant on your own blog…
Anyhow, Amanda booked me because she has a love of B&W photography, and so most of what you see in this post will be B&W, but family and friends need not worry as couples who purchase the CD get the images in both colour and B&W as a matter of course.
